Huish Leisure will be following the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme which is the leading national teaching syllabus for delivering safe, inclusive and effective swimming lessons for all ages.

Our Swimming Instructors will be using the following framework;

Pre-School (Duckling) – This Framework is aimed at babies and toddlers aged between 0-5 years old. It helps to build the foundation for a lifelong love of water.

Learn to Swim (Stages 1-7) – This Framework is made up of the seven stages of learning to swim, which develop confident and able swimmers using fun and enjoyment to engage learners.

The 25 metre indoor swimming pool will provide the Primary School students, Academy students and the local community with swimming all year round.

The swimming pool will be supervised by RLSS qualified lifeguards, providing a safe environment.

For pool amendments and Bank Holiday opening times please see the ‘What’s Going On’ board in Reception, visit our website or follow us on Twitter or Facebook for the latest updates.

learn to Swim - Stage 5

The Learn to Swim Awards 1-7 are divided into progressive stages. They make up the core, national syllabus of learning to swim for primary school aged children.

They are designed to reward your child for their development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water.

Each of the Learn to Swim Awards 1-7 stages has a list of clear outcomes that need to be completed in order to gain each award.
